Spreading Health, Service, Education and Grace

Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Teeter are well known and admired for their generous and caring natures. They have both supported the health and wellness of not only Arkansas Tech's athletics programs, but also the university and the surrounding community for decades.

In 2009, the Dr. Stanley D. Teeter Athletic Training Center in Hull was named in Stanley's honor and provides student athletes with the latest in injury care and prevention. Stanley, a student leader and Wonder Boy from 1952-1956, served as the Tech team doctor from 1968-2000. He and Maysel are still two of Tech's biggest fans and rarely miss a game.

"Tech faculty gave me the solid foundation I needed to pursue my interest in medicine," says Stanley. After earning his medical degree and spending five years as a flight surgeon, Stanley returned to Russellville and began his practice in medicine in 1965. "Some of my most gratifying service experiences and good memories have been at Tech," says Stanley. In addition to being inducted into the Arkansas Tech Hall of Distinction in 1976, he was also appointed to the Board of Trustees from 1976-1986.

Maysel has shared her spirit of service and grace through caring for her family; teaching elementary school students; working with area artists; rescuing animals; being very active in their church; and providing extensive volunteer service and leadership. In 2004, she was named the community's "Woman of the Year."

"I've loved becoming part of the Tech family," says Maysel. "You just feel good supporting a place that makes kids feel they belong and that gives them opportunities they can use to build their future. Tech is truly leading us through the 21st century. It is a special place to enjoy the opportunity of a lifetime."
